Job description
W2 role
Salesforce Product Manager / Product Owner
Remote
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Product Manager / Product Owner to lead requirements definition and product delivery for DTV 360, DIRECTV’s Salesforce-based sales and customer service platform.
The immediate focus of this role will be integrating Salesforce lead-management capabilities with a new, internally developed point-of-sale platform. This ecosystem supports the customer acquisition journey from initial lead capture and qualification through package eligibility, cart creation, checkout, payment, credit validation, and account creation.
The ideal candidate will bring strong Salesforce product experience, a practical understanding of CRM and system integrations, and the ability to translate business goals into clear epics, features, requirements, acceptance criteria, and user stories. This person will work closely with business stakeholders, technical resources, scrum teams, and external delivery partners to move product initiatives from concept through implementation.
This is not intended to be a hands-on Salesforce development role. However, the successful candidate must possess enough Salesforce and integration knowledge to participate credibly in technical discussions, validate proposed solutions, challenge estimates and timelines, and hold delivery partners accountable.
Key Responsibilities
Own the definition, refinement, and delivery of product requirements for DTV 360 initiatives, with an immediate focus on Salesforce integration with the new in-house point-of-sale platform.
Partner with business stakeholders to understand lead-management, customer-acquisition, sales, and service needs and translate those needs into actionable product requirements.
Participate in feature-level discussions and convert business initiatives into clearly defined epics and high-level features.
Collaborate with Salesforce and integration specialists to decompose features into detailed user stories, functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and technical dependencies.
Lead backlog refinement and story-grooming activities with the scrum team.
Support Agile delivery from initial requirements and feature definition through implementation, validation, and release.
Define and validate the two-way exchange of customer and transaction information between Salesforce and the point-of-sale platform.
Ensure requirements and user stories are sufficiently detailed, testable, and aligned with business objectives before entering development.
Validate that delivered functionality satisfies approved requirements and acceptance criteria.
Identify risks, dependencies, assumptions, data gaps, and unresolved decisions early enough to protect delivery timelines.
Establish clear expectations with internal teams and external delivery partners regarding scope, feasibility, sequencing, estimates, and completion criteria.
Challenge unsupported requirements, estimates, and timelines while helping stakeholders reach realistic delivery commitments.
Maintain visibility into roadmap priorities, backlog health, delivery status, and cross-functional dependencies.
Support the longer-term evolution of DTV 360 toward a more unified sales and service experience, with role-based permissions and workflows supporting customer service, sales, and upsell activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Demonstrated experience translating business objectives into epics, features, functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and user stories.
Strong working knowledge of Salesforce CRM concepts, including objects, fields, permissions, workflow automation, and platform configuration.
Experience supporting Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or comparable Salesforce implementations.
Experience managing CRM integrations with commerce, point-of-sale, order-management, payment, or other transaction-oriented platforms.
Strong understanding of API-based integrations, system-to-system data exchange, and data-mapping dependencies.
Experience partnering with Salesforce developers, architects, API teams, integration specialists, business stakeholders, and Agile delivery teams.
Ability to translate complex business processes into clear, structured, and testable requirements.
Experience leading backlog refinement, story grooming, prioritization, and acceptance-criteria validation.
Sufficient technical fluency to assess feasibility, ask informed questions, evaluate delivery estimates, and challenge technical assumptions.
Experience managing third-party vendors or delivery partners and holding those teams accountable for scope, quality, estimates, and timelines.
Strong ownership mentality with the ability to begin shaping requirements before the full delivery team is established.
Ability to operate independently, manage ambiguity, and move multiple related enterprise initiatives forward.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate productive discussions between business and technical stakeholders.
Experience working in an Agile or SAFe-aligned delivery environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting lead management, lead qualification, lead conversion, or agent-assisted sales processes.
Experience with customer-acquisition journeys that include product or package qualification, shopping cart, checkout, payment, credit validation, account creation, or order submission.
Familiarity with MuleSoft, Salesforce Flows, and Lightning Web Components.
Experience with Salesforce integrations that require bidirectional data exchange with internally developed platforms.
Experience working with contact-center, telecommunications, subscription-service, digital-commerce, or customer self-service products.
Familiarity with combined sales and customer-service environments where agents support servicing, selling, and upsell activities.
Experience delivering products through geographically distributed teams.
Experience working with development organizations based in multiple international time zones.
