Job Description: 

 Isoft is seeking, a leader in a highly regulated, market-facing industry, is seeking experienced Senior Full Stack Software Engineers to support a large-scale enterprise modernization initiative. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy untangling complex legacy systems, solving difficult technical challenges, and building modern, scalable solutions that support mission-critical business operations.

This position is approximately 80% backend-focused, with primary responsibility for Java application development, system integrations, database optimization, and modernization of legacy enterprise platforms. Engineers will also contribute to front-end development using Angular and collaborate across the full technology stack as needed.

The team is modernizing critical operational applications by decomposing monolithic systems, improving interoperability between platforms, and developing scalable solutions that support evolving business and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do:

Application Development & Modernization

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications supporting critical operational processes.

• Modernize and refactor complex legacy systems into scalable, maintainable architectures.

• Decompose monolithic applications into services-based solutions.

• Develop integrations between existing enterprise platforms and modernized systems.

• Build and maintain Java-based backend services, APIs, and business logic.

Database & Data Management

• Write, troubleshoot, and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures.

• Design and support Oracle database integrations and relational data models.

• Improve application performance through database tuning and query optimization.

Front-End Development

• Develop and enhance user-facing functionality using Angular.

• Contribute across the application stack when front-end expertise is needed.

• Support responsive, maintainable user experiences.

Cloud, DevOps & Operations

• Deploy and support applications running in Kubernetes and Docker environments.

• Participate in GitHub-based source control and CI/CD delivery processes.

• Investigate production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.

• Support scalable and reliable deployment pipelines.

Collaboration & Business Partnership

• Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective solutions.

• Quickly learn complex business processes, system relationships, and specialized domain terminology.

• Identify opportunities for improvement and advocate for sound engineering practices.

AI-Assisted Engineering

• Leverage AI-powered development tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or similar platforms to accelerate code understanding, troubleshooting, documentation, and development efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering or application development experience.

• Strong hands-on experience developing enterprise applications in Java.

• Advanced SQL development and troubleshooting skills.

• Experience with Oracle databases and relational data modeling.

• Experience building integrations between enterprise applications and platforms.

• Experience with Angular or similar front-end frameworks.

• Experience deploying and supporting applications within Kubernetes environments.

• Experience with GitHub and modern CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.

• Proven success working within complex legacy application environments.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with TimeLeaf data structures, tables, or related systems.

• Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics.

• Experience with Azure Data Factory.

• Experience supporting highly regulated enterprise applications.

• Familiarity with microservices and containerized architectures.

• Experience modernizing legacy applications and improving system interoperability.

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or similar solutions.

• Exposure to operational, compliance-driven, or transactional business processes.
