Experience Level: 11+Years

Location: Ohio - Onsite

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Azure Cloud Engineer with 11+ years of IT experience, specializing in Microsoft Azure cloud architecture, deployment, and operational excellence. In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable, secure cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to automate workflows, modernize legacy systems, and ensure seamless migration and ongoing management of cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Infrastructure: Design, build, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure on Microsoft Azure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.

Cloud Migration: Plan and execute cloud migration strategies (re-hosting, re-platforming, re-architecting) from on-premises or multi-cloud environments to Azure.

Automation & CI/CD: Establish and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions to automate software deployment, configuration management, and operational workflows.

Security & Governance: Implement Azure security best practices, including RBAC, Azure Key Vault, Managed Identities, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and Azure Policy to ensure regulatory compliance and governance.

Networking & Identity: Design and manage core networking features (VNets, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways, Azure Firewall, Load Balancers) and identity management through Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory).

Monitoring & Operations: Set up proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting via Azure Monitor and Log Analytics to ensure high availability, optimal performance, and rapid incident response.

Cost Optimization: Monitor cloud consumption, identify inefficiencies, and execute cost-optimization strategies using Azure Cost Management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience: 11+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 4–7 years dedicated strictly to Azure cloud engineering and administration.

Location Requirement: Must be currently based in Ohio or actively willing to relocate to Ohio prior to start.

IaC & Scripting: Strong hands-on proficiency with Terraform or Azure Bicep, alongside scripting experience in PowerShell or Bash.

DevOps Practice: Solid experience with Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Boards, Repos) or GitHub Actions for continuous integration and delivery.

Containerization: Experience managing containerized applications using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Container Apps, or Docker.

Networking & Security: Deep understanding of enterprise cloud networking topologies, hybrid cloud connection strategies, and security frameworks.

Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex hybrid-cloud architectural issues and optimize system performance.
