Best Buy's Store Deployment organization is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing technology, infrastructure, and physical store initiatives across the retail stores. This includes hardware refreshes, application deployments, network upgrades, store remodels/resets, new store openings, store closures, and vendor-led implementation projects.

Project Description:

Reflow is a store merchandising project that involves reconfiguring the layout of existing departments, fixtures, displays, and product placement within a store to improve the customer experience, support new assortments, or prepare for future initiatives. Unlike a full remodel, a reflow typically reuses much of the existing infrastructure while moving and updating fixtures, displays, and product locations. References in deployment updates indicate reflow work is planned and executed across multiple stores as part of annual store planning efforts.

This role serves as a central point of coordination between project teams, vendors, field resources, and business partners to drive project completion, mitigate risks, resolve issues, and maintain alignment to project goals. Work is performed primarily during standard business hours.

Responsibilities

Project Execution & Coordination

- Manage deployment activities for assigned projects to ensure delivery within scope, schedule, and quality expectations.

- Develop a thorough understanding of project objectives, deliverables, timelines, dependencies, and risks.

- Coordinate activities across internal teams, external partners, and field resources to support successful project execution.

- Serve as a primary point of contact for deployment-related questions, escalations, and issue resolution.

- Communicate project updates, dependencies, and concerns to appropriate stakeholders, escalating issues and providing recommendations when needed.

Operational Management

- Monitor project progress using established tools, reporting mechanisms, and dashboards.

- Track project milestones, deliverables, resource readiness, and deployment status.

- Identify, document, and escalate project risks, issues, and obstacles while driving resolution.

- Ensure project documentation, status updates, and tracking systems remain accurate and current.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

- Build and maintain effective working relationships with business partners, vendors, project teams, and leadership.

- Coordinate resource readiness and support activities required for successful deployments.

- Coordinate project meetings, reviews, and checkpoints, documenting action items and communicating next steps.

- Provide regular project status updates and escalation communications to project stakeholders and leadership teams.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

- Validate deployment readiness and completion against established project requirements.

- Review project outcomes and provide recommendations to improve deployment processes and execution efficiency.

- Support the development of best practices, standards, and documentation for future initiatives.

Basic Requirements

- Experience managing multi-site deployments of IT infrastructure components including cabling and hardware.

- Strong project coordination and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners.

- Ability to identify risks, troubleshoot issues, and drive resolution in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.

- Experience utilizing project management, task tracking, or workflow management tools.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.

- Proficiency in documenting processes, requirements, status updates, and project outcomes.

- Experience managing simultaneous on-site deployment projects remotely.

- Experience working with vendors and third-party service providers contracted by other teams.

- Background in deployment management, implementation services, operations, or business process improvement.

- Experience with retail merchandising concepts and their integration with technology (e.g., store maps, planograms, fixture nomenclature, etc.).

- Experience reading and interpreting low-voltage prints, construction drawings, and other architectural project-related documents.
