Job Description

American Airlines seeks a Manager, Executive Compensation to design, analyze, and administer competitive executive pay programs that support our global airline strategy. In this role, you will manage base, bonus, and long-term incentive programs, conduct market benchmarking, and develop models to evaluate pay-for-performance. You will partner with HR, Finance, and senior leadership to prepare materials for executives and the Board, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver clear compensation insights that attract, retain, and motivate top talent in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage executive compensation programs including base salary, annual incentives, and long-term equity plans.
  • Conduct market analyses and benchmarking using compensation surveys and internal data to ensure competitive, equitable pay.
  • Develop financial models and analytics to evaluate pay-for-performance and scenario impacts for executives.
  • Prepare clear compensation recommendations and presentations for senior leadership and the Board.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, Legal, and external advisors to align programs with business strategy and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and disclosure requirements related to executive compensation.
  • Manage annual compensation cycles, including merit, bonus, and long-term incentive planning for executives.
  • Generate dashboards and reports that communicate compensation insights to stakeholders.
  • Support development of executive compensation policies, governance, and documentation.
  • Lead or support special projects related to rewards strategy and program optimization.
