Mid-Level System Administrator
Job Description
Radar Applications Incorporated (RAI) is a rapidly growing company delivering advanced sensor technologies for airborne and satellite radar missions. We seek highly motivated professionals to support our existing R&D programs and to help us solve challenging problems for our Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), and commercial customers. We have an immediate opening for a Systems Administrator in Ann Arbor, MI. This position is 100% onsite.

Responsibilities • Lead assigned systems administration tasks and infrastructure projects from planning through completion, working independently to resolve issues, document changes, and communicate status and risks. • Administer and maintain Windows Server, Windows 11, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems, including installation, configuration, patching, access controls, and lifecycle maintenance. • Manage hybrid identity and Microsoft services across on-premises Active Directory, Group Policy, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365, including authentication, permissions, and external collaboration. • Manage Intune endpoint configurations, application deployments, update policies, BitLocker, Windows LAPS, and Microsoft Defender. • Implement and maintain system hardening using DISA STIGs and CIS Benchmarks; investigate vulnerabilities, coordinate remediation, and maintain supporting compliance documentation. • Investigate Microsoft Defender and Sentinel alerts, troubleshoot security issues, and coordinate incident response with the security lead. • Configure and troubleshoot network services and infrastructure, including VLANs, DNS, DHCP, switches, wireless networks, firewalls, and VPN connectivity. • Maintain high-capacity storage, RAID, Windows and Linux file services, and backup systems; lead assigned recovery tests and resolve availability and performance issues. • Develop and maintain PowerShell and Bash scripts to automate provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and routine maintenance. • Support engineering platforms and applications, including GitLab, Podman, MATLAB, and associated toolboxes and licensing. • Identify infrastructure improvements and lead assigned upgrades from evaluation and planning through implementation, validation, and documentation. • Maintain operational procedures, network diagrams, and system documentation.

Qualifications • Must be a U.S.

Citizen • Must be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance. • 5+ years of progressively responsible IT experience, including hands-on systems administration and independent responsibility for production systems. • Experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365 services. • Working experience administering Linux systems, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including permissions, services, storage, and integration with Windows environments. • Experience with system patching, security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and backup and recovery procedures. • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls, and VPNs, with the ability to troubleshoot issues across endpoints, servers, and networks. • Ability to develop, modify, and troubleshoot PowerShell or Bash scripts and document repeatable administrative procedures. • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of technical issues and projects, research unfamiliar problems, and carry work through to completion with limited supervision. • Sound judgment when assessing changes, protecting system availability, and escalating security risks or decisions requiring broader approval. • Strong communication and documentation skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to users and coordinate work with engineering and security staff. • Current Security+ CE or another cybersecurity certification approved for the position.

Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune, including Conditional Access, application deployment, and endpoint security policies. • Experience supporting DoD or federal environments, implementing DISA STIGs or CIS Benchmarks, and supporting RMF or NIST SP 800-171 requirements. • Familiarity with Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, and Nessus/ACAS for security monitoring and vulnerability management. • Experience with firewalls, networking, enterprise storage, or Windows/Linux file-sharing integration. • Experience supporting GitLab, Git, Podman, or MATLAB installations, toolboxes, and licensing. • Exposure to AWS GovCloud or Azure Government administration and identity integration. • Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Compensation • Salary: $80,000-130,000 depending on experience • Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k+Profit Sharing, Holidays, PTO, and Sick Leave.
