Job Description

MANTECH seeks an experienced and passionate, career and customer-oriented Linux Systems Administrator to join our team located in the Fort Meade, MD area. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Provide comprehensive administration and support for multi-platform operating system environments.
* Design and implement automated security hardening solutions to enhance scalability and streamline operating system deployments.
* Configure and maintain host-based security and intrusion detection systems.
* Monitor system performance and investigate detected anomalies to ensure operational integrity.
* Develop and deploy automation scripts to manage server integration and reduce manual configuration errors.
* Analyze system and security logs to identify and respond to real-time events and provide status updates to leadership.
* Engineer automation workflows for identity and access management to replace manual account provisioning processes.
* Conduct regular audits to verify security compliance and identify potential vulnerabilities or configuration gaps.
* Participate in design and review meetings to provide technical insights, project goals, and status updates to management. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 10+ years of relevant Systems Administration experience; or an Associate's degree with 15+ years' experience.
* 10+ years of experience in systems administration of software and hardware supporting IT system development and testing.
* Extensive experience with Linux administration and enterprise-level operating systems.
* Experience utilizing Ansible or comparable infrastructure-as-code tools.
* Experience with NiFi or cross-domain solutions.
* Experience managing enterprise virtualization platforms (VMware or similar) and associated Storage Area Networks (SAN). Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, SaltStack, or Puppet.
* Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, Bash, or Perl.
* Experience collaborating with teams to integrate and deploy new technologies into production environments.
* Knowledge of network devices (routers, switches, gateways) and protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, DHCP, and DNS.
Clearance Requirement: * Current/Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Physical Requirements: * Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
* Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
* Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as, the copy machine/fax machine/computer/printer.
