Job Description

Role: AI Engineer
Location: Jersey City NJ
We're looking for a Software Engineer III to help build the next generation of AI-powered developer tools and automation platforms. You'll be part of an agile team designing, building, and delivering scalable software products end-to-end, writing production-quality code that applies modern software architecture and AI/agentic frameworks to real engineering problems.
Job Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications and services (APIs, backend systems, internal tools) that power automation platforms used across the firm.
  • Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code following best practices (code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, version control).
  • Design and build AI-powered automation agents as software products, integrating LLMs and agentic frameworks (LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar) into engineering workflows.
  • Build internal developer tools, libraries, and self-service platforms that improve developer productivity while meeting security and compliance requirements.
  • Integrate ML-driven anomaly detection and telemetry into applications, working with observability platforms (Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana).
  • Support production systems you help build, including root-cause analysis and on-call rotations.
  • Analyze usage/performance data to inform engineering decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering with 3+ years applied experience in software development.
  • Strong proficiency in Python (or similar language) with experience designing and shipping production software.
  • Experience with software engineering practices: version control, code review, automated testing, CI/CD.
  • Experience building/consuming APIs and services; solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design.
  • Experience with logging, monitoring, and observability integration.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies and secure coding principles.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Experience with AI/ML or agentic frameworks (LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI) and LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bitbucket).
  • Experience building automation bots, developer tools, or internal platforms.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience with vector databases and RAG architectures.
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries.
