Software Engineers - AI / Agentic AI Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client in Tampa, FL that is seeking Software Engineers - AI / Agentic AI Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Build and support scalable, production-ready software and AI-enabled applications
• Develop solutions using Python and/or Java, SQL, APIs, microservices, and cloud technologies
• Design and implement Generative AI applications, including LLM-based solutions, RAG, embeddings, and vector search
• Create AI agents and automated workflows that integrate with enterprise applications, databases, APIs, and developer tools
• Apply prompt engineering, context management, tool calling, orchestration, and validation techniques
• Optimize applications and data services for performance, reliability, security, and scalability
• Implement automated testing, CI/CD, containerization, monitoring, and operational support practices
• Partner with architecture, data, infrastructure, and product teams to deliver enterprise solutions
• Use AI-assisted development tools throughout requirements, design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Experience building and supporting cloud-based, distributed, and data-intensive applications
• Hands-on experience developing solutions with Generative AI and large language models
• Experience designing AI agents, including tool calling, orchestration, memory/context handling, and error recovery
• Experience with AWS, Snowflake, Spark, Kubernetes/OpenShift, or similar enterprise technologies is beneficial
• Practical experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude or Kiro
• Strong development skills in Python and/or Java with advanced SQL knowledge
• Knowledge of RAG, embeddings, vector databases/search, prompt engineering, and LLM integrations
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, Git, automated testing, CI/CD, and containers
• Understanding of AI security, governance, observability, DevSecOps, and production support practices
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
