Mechanical Designer Job Description:
There is presently a need for highly-motivated Mechanical Designers with the ability to produce design deliverables from design sketches, layouts and/or concepts to support manufacture, assembly and test. We are looking for candidates with the desire to develop skills through on-the-job experience and continued education to advance in the design profession.

Mechanical Designer Job Description:
There is presently a need for highly-motivated Mechanical Designers with the ability to produce design deliverables from design sketches, layouts and/or concepts to support manufacture, assembly and test. We are looking for candidates with the desire to develop skills through on-the-job experience and continued education to advance in the design profession.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma/GED or Vocational High School diploma
- 6+ years of design experience
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.drawings
- Demonstrated proficiency in drafting (portfolio) with Computer Aided Design (CAD) is required (NX preferred)
Preferred:
- Two year Technical School/College
- Experience with CATIA and/or NX
- Experience in Design for Six Sigma, Lean Design/Manufacturing
Skills
- Must be willing to work in a collaborative and team environment.
- Must possess strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
- Must possess strong computer skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft products
- Ability to perform design related math functions
- Ability to read and interpret written instructions and drawings (blueprints)
- Firm understanding of Design Standards, Manufacturing Processes and Military Specifications including GD&T
