Job Description

CareerMakers Recruitment are working with a well-established manufacturing business in Accrington who are looking to appoint an experienced Sales Administrator to support their busy commercial team.

This is a varied position combining sales administration with account management responsibilities. You will act as a key point of contact for customers, ensuring a smooth process from enquiry through to delivery, while building strong, long-term relationships.

The Role

As Sales Administrator, you will provide comprehensive support to the sales function while taking ownership to ensure full compliance with UK regulations. You will act as a central link between sales, purchasing, production, and external regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, acting as the main point of contact
  • Process sales orders accurately and efficiently
  • Prepare and follow up on quotations
  • Liaise with production, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery
  • Handle customer enquiries, resolving issues promptly and professionally
  • Maintain accurate records on CRM/ERP systems
  • Support external sales managers with customer updates and reporting
  • Monitor stock levels and delivery schedules

Systems & Stock Management

  • Develop working knowledge of the MRP system (currently using 123 Insight)
  • Assist with stock level monitoring based on sales forecasts and customer demand
  • Support cross-departmental communication between sales, engineering, and operations

General Office Support

  • Assist with ad hoc administrative duties
  • Provide support to engineering when required
  • Coordinate with contractors regarding repairs and maintenance

Qualifications/Experience

  • Excellent communicator
  • Proactive and a team player
  • Understanding on how to use Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Relevant experience within an SME manufacturing facility preferred
  • Previous experience in a sales/administrator role

About You

We are looking for a confident and detail-oriented professional who can take ownership of export compliance responsibilities.

You will have:

  • Previous experience in a sales administration, internal sales, or account management role
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, or a product-based environment preferred
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Good IT skills (Excel, CRM/ERP systems such as SAP or Salesforce desirable)
  • Proactive and able to work both independently and as part of a team

Working Hours: -

Monday - Thursday, 7:45am - 4:15pm

Friday, 7:45am - 1:45pm

Pay rate: 14.36
