Job Title: Event Manager
Location: Pensacola, FL
Type: Contract
Compensation: Negotiable, W-2 hourly, paid weekly
Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote, 3 days onsite, 2 days remote
Hours: 40 hours a week
Security Clearance: No clearance but will require a background check to include criminal, credit and fingerprinting
Responsibilities
• Provide input on and influence the overall strategic direction of moderately complex enterprise events.
• Lead the development of plans, tactics, and goals for the program area using data-driven and qualitative insights.
• Conduct research and analysis and provide recommendations for event strategies and improvements.
• Manage the full event life cycle from concept through execution for complex, multifaceted events, tournaments, group outings, discounted ticket programs, and virtual offerings, including timelines, budgets, design, logistics, and communications.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with team members, leadership, key stakeholders, and vendors to support alignment, visibility, and event programming objectives.
• Secure and oversee vendor contracts, including preparing requests for proposals, analyzing bids, finalizing agreements, and coordinating venue site visits.
• Provide on-site management and operational leadership to support seamless execution, proactive issue resolution, and positive attendee experiences.
• Research, propose, and implement new ideas to automate and streamline work, reduce expenses, and improve processes and efficiencies.
• Collect and analyze event data, present conclusions and recommendations, enhance existing events, and propose new offerings that address employee and organizational needs.
• Benchmark event offerings and results against industry practices and emerging trends.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
• Minimum of five years of relevant event management experience, including logistics, planning, and coordination.
• Proven ability to lead projects from concept through execution and evaluation.
• Advanced project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
• Significant experience reviewing and negotiating contracts.
• Advanced written and verbal communication, research, analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills.
• High attention to detail, strong organization, and adaptability in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Positive attitude, initiative, flexibility, and the ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.
• Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate needs.
• Strong customer service orientation and stakeholder relationship-building skills.
• Advanced interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity.
