Job Description

The American Girl Retail team is integral in providing lifetime memories to American Girl fans and their families. Our experiential retail stores provide shopping destinations like no other. This requires Innovation, Collaboration, and Execution from all who are a part of this division. Our in-store experiences range depending on location from Girl and Doll Salons, Full-Service Restaurants, Personal Shopping, Ear Piercing (Girl and Doll), hosting Parties/Celebrations to name a few. Expect a dynamic and fast-paced role where you get to make decisions that impact the team as well as our customers.

 

-Provides party services, answers questions, communicates with party customers via telephone, demonstrating proper doll hair care and skin care techniques, resolving and recording customer problems, responding to special requests, assessing needs, and offering suggestions.  Provides store leadership with party updates such as food selection and number of attendees. 

- Works closely with food vendors to provide accurate and timely orders to meet customer demand. 

- Works closely with RSS on party reservations responding to guests within 48 hours on contact and creates party contract based on guest input and requests. 

- Works with store leadership to create a fair and balanced work schedule for party team that addresses business need. 

- Places daily and weekly product orders and maintain inventory pars. 

- Display a positive demeanor while working with speed and efficiency. 

- Assign and complete daily tasks and side work assignments for FOH and BOH areas in a consistently and timely manner. 

- Create and maintain a pleasant ambiance in the dining room and party rooms through lighting, music, and table placement. 

- Work with party teams to provide outstanding customer service, including but not limited to:  making desserts at the dessert counter (if applicable), servicing and completing to-go transactions (if applicable), making and delivering food and beverages, running food, bussing and resetting tables, daily clean up to include cleaning of soiled dishes and restocking of service ware. Greeting tables, assisting with parties and storewide special events, stocking supplies, and other projects as requested by a supervisor.  

- Follow food safety guidelines, including but not limited to: proper food labeling and storage, FIFO, foods stored at proper temperature, and avoiding cross-contamination.  

- Follow workplace safety guidelines, including but not limited to:  proper knife handling, cut glove policy, and proper equipment use. 

- Have knowledge and understanding of local and state health sanitation laws.  All health inspections are passed and accidents are minimal. 

- Company guidelines on safety and sanitation are followed for personal hygiene. 

- Share information, solve problems, and resolve issues respectfully and collaboratively. 

- Seek help and feedback regularly.  Be receptive and open to feedback. 

- Take initiative to train, teach, and assist others. Display a positive attitude towards teammates. 

- Accept direction from supervisors and co-workers. Support coworkers by offering assistance in the dining room, party rooms, host stand, wait stations, kitchen, dessert counter and to-go areas (if applicable) 

- Strong understanding Infogenesis and POS register system.  Infogenesis and POS transactions are completed according to company policy.  Including but not limited to:  sales transactions, voids, comps, and opening/closing procedures 

- Comply with all company policies within the Employee Handbook including the Code of Conduct, dependability standards, availability standards, and staff schedule requirements.  

- Report to department at scheduled time and prepared to start duties and responsibilities.  

- Appropriate dress code are followed and professional appearance is maintained at all times 

High School degree, and undergraduate education preferred.  Serve Safe certification preferred. 

One - two years experience in a high volume, fine-casual dining or related restaurant preferred.  Experience with working with children preferred. Minimum of 6 months work experience in customer relations, parties, or events. 

Ability to execute games, crafts, and style doll hair.  Must enjoy public speaking, children and possess a warm and friendly demeanor.  Previous experience working with children a plus. Good verbal and communications skills required.
