AI Principal Cloud Migration

About the Role

• Seeking an experienced AI Principal ? Cloud Migration to lead cloud transformation initiatives across Retirement and Recordkeeping platforms. This role will drive cloud migration strategy, modernization decisions, and AI-enabled engineering practices to accelerate the transformation of critical business applications.

• The ideal candidate brings deep Retirement domain expertise and can determine the most effective migration approach for each platform, from minimal-change cloud migrations (lift-and-shift/replatforming) to full cloud-native rearchitectures. This leader will partner with business, architecture, infrastructure, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and future-ready cloud solutions 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cloud migration and modernization strategies across Retirement platforms and applications.
• Assess legacy systems and define optimal migration paths including Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Rearchitect, Replace, or Retire.
• Drive both rapid cloud adoption initiatives and strategic cloud-native transformation programs.
• Define target-state architectures leveraging cloud-native services, APIs, microservices, containers, and modern integration patterns.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to align cloud transformation efforts with enterprise objectives.
• Provide architectural leadership, governance, and technical direction across large-scale migration programs.
• Establish best practices for security, resiliency, observability, performance, and operational readiness.
• Mentor engineering teams and drive adoption of modern cloud engineering practices.

Required AI Competencies

• Leverage AI-powered tools for application discovery, dependency mapping, migration assessments, and modernization planning.
• Apply AI-assisted engineering techniques for code analysis, code transformation, test generation, documentation, and developer productivity.
• Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, AI Agents, RAG, and enterprise AI platforms.
• Utilize AI-driven insights to accelerate architecture decisions, migration prioritization, and risk analysis.
• Drive AI-enabled quality engineering, test automation, and validation strategies.
• Implement AIOps capabilities including intelligent monitoring, anomaly detection, predictive operations, and automated remediation.
• Establish AI governance and responsible AI practices within regulated financial services environments.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of technology leadership experience with 8+ years leading cloud migration and modernization programs.
• Deep experience supporting Retirement, Recordkeeping, Wealth Management, or Financial Services platforms.
• Strong expertise in Azure.
• Proven experience with enterprise architecture, distributed systems, microservices, APIs, Kubernetes, and cloud-native platforms.
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience modernizing complex legacy Retirement platforms.
• Familiarity with Azure OpenAI, GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, AWS Bedrock, or similar AI platforms.
• Cloud certifications (Azure).
• Experience in highly regulated financial services environments.
