Title: Network Engineer

Introduction:

The Network Engineer position in our company involves implementing and maintaining secure network infrastructure aligned with federal standards and best practices. The role requires expertise in various network security controls, continuous monitoring, risk assessment, incident response, and network architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain enterprise network security controls aligned with NIST standards
• Enforce Zero Trust network architecture principles
• Establish secure network segmentation and micro-segmentation strategies
• Design and implement least-privilege network access controls
• Manage edge port authentication for network access control
• Configure centralized SIEM logging for network devices
• Conduct continuous risk assessments and vulnerability assessments
• Harden network devices using secure configuration baselines
• Secure perimeter and public-facing network assets
• Support incident response activities and forensic analysis
• Ensure rigorous change control processes for network changes
• Develop and maintain Network Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Document hardware baseline lifecycle and configuration baselines
• Perform root cause analysis for network incidents
• Maintain automated patch management and firmware update procedures
• Develop and update comprehensive network diagrams
• Troubleshoot and maintain enterprise DNS services
• Support 24/7 monitoring of network infrastructure
• Maintain audit-ready documentation of network configurations
• Provide escalation support for service desk tickets and network operations
