Solutions Architect Remote

Introduction:

The Sr. Solutions Architect - SDDC will assist SHI's customers in the post-sales implementation of data center infrastructure automation initiatives (Software-Defined Data Center) as clients move towards modern data center solutions and private clouds. This delivery role involves low-level design and the hands-on deployment of enterprise infrastructure and platforms, providing upgrade and migration services, and ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. Additionally, the Sr. Solutions Architect – SDDC serves as a mentor to other consultants within the team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform low-level design and implementation work including architecture analysis, system migration, and systems engineering
• Design and implement VMware VCF, automation technologies, PowerShell scripting, server virtualization, disaster recovery, virtual networking, and hyperconverged solutions
• Serve as a technical lead on projects, collaborate with sales and presales teams, mentor other team members, and participate in pre-sales conversations
• Stay up to date with industry trends and offerings, provide technical leadership, and demonstrate long-term thinking in customer engagements

Requirements:

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in overseeing and directing projects to completion
• Ability to identify, document, and manage technical needs of a project
• Experience in defining, designing, building, and maintaining systems and solutions
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Ability to guide other consultants within the team
• Certification in one or more of VCIX, VCAP, VCP, VCDX, CCIE, VMCE

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Kubernetes or Tanzu
• Client-facing experience with good communication skills
• Automation experience with Aria and IaC technologies
• Knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, SaltStack
• Understanding of firewall, hypervisor, and orchestration tools
• Experience in project management and solution architecture
• Proficiency in programming languages like PowerShell, JavaScript
• Experience with VMware, servers, server virtualization, and VCF

Additional Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience
• 7+ years of experience in solutions architecture or working with infrastructure
• 10+ years of experience with VMWare and associated products
• 8 - 10+ years of technical experience with increasing responsibility
• Willingness to travel occasionally
