Job Description

Network Solutions Developer

Location: San Francisco Bay Area, CA (Hybrid)
Work Environment: AI Infrastructure / Data Center Networking

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Network Solutions Developer to build software, automation, and APIs for a high-performance AI infrastructure platform. This role combines strong networking expertise with software engineering to automate the provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and management of production network infrastructure at scale.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with data center networking, network automation, and production software development using Python, Go, or similar languages. Experience with AI/HPC networking, RDMA, RoCEv2, InfiniBand, and high-speed Ethernet fabrics is highly desirable.

You will work closely with network architects and infrastructure engineering teams to translate network designs into reliable, scalable, and production-ready automation across data center environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop software and automation to provision, configure, validate, and manage switches, routers, network interface cards (NICs), and related infrastructure.

  • Build APIs and services to integrate network infrastructure with Kubernetes, provisioning platforms, and data center operations systems.

  • Implement network architecture designs as repeatable, production-ready automation for new data center deployments.

  • Develop network inventory, topology discovery, configuration management, and lifecycle management tools.

  • Integrate network telemetry and monitoring systems to track performance, capacity, and network health.

  • Build automated workflows to detect, troubleshoot, and remediate common network failures.

  • Develop automated testing, configuration validation, and network conformance testing frameworks.

  • Troubleshoot complex issues across network devices, NICs, firmware, APIs, software, and distributed systems.

  • Collaborate with compute, storage, and inference engineering teams to optimize end-to-end network performance.

  • Integrate open-source networking technologies and contribute improvements to relevant projects where appropriate.

  • Follow software engineering best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, fault tolerance, and production readiness.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with production data center networking, including Ethernet switching, routing, VLANs, VRFs, BGP, and network troubleshooting.

  • Proficiency in Python, Go, or similar programming languages for network automation, infrastructure tooling, and API development.

  • Experience developing software that interacts with network devices, network controllers, or infrastructure management systems.

  • Understanding of network configuration management, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience analyzing network counters, telemetry, and performance metrics to troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues.

  • Understanding of distributed systems concepts, including retries, idempotency, concurrency, failure handling, and state management.

  • Experience with automated testing, observability, and reliable deployment practices.

  • Familiarity with Linux, Kubernetes, and bare-metal infrastructure.

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues across hardware, firmware, APIs, and software components.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI infrastructure, high-performance computing (HPC), or GPU cluster networking.

  • Knowledge of RDMA, RoCEv2, InfiniBand, Priority Flow Control (PFC), Explicit Congestion Notification (ECN), and Quality of Service (QoS).

  • Experience with SONiC or other open network operating systems.

  • Familiarity with NVIDIA Spectrum switches, ConnectX network adapters, or comparable high-performance networking platforms.

  • Experience with Ansible, Terraform, GitOps, or other infrastructure automation frameworks.

  • Familiarity with streaming telemetry and network observability platforms.

  • Experience supporting GPU, accelerator, or large-scale distributed compute clusters.

  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing and automated network validation.

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted or agentic coding tools for infrastructure software development.

  • Contributions to open-source networking projects are a plus.

What You'll Do

You will join a small, high-impact engineering team building the automation foundation for a next-generation AI infrastructure platform. You will work across software, APIs, network devices, and production infrastructure, with an emphasis on reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.

The team values automation over repetitive manual operations, end-to-end engineering ownership, open-source technologies, and rigorous testing before production deployment.
