Job Description

Position: Deskside Engineer

Location: Rosemont, IL 60018 (Onsite)

Hiring: Fulltime with Hexaware Technologies

Key Responsibilities:

  • Image, configure, deploy, and maintain desktop and laptop computers.
  • Install, upgrade, and support Windows operating systems and standard business applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues involving desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations, and peripherals.
  • Diagnose and resolve software-related issues, including operating system errors, application failures, and connectivity problems.
  • Configure, install, and troubleshoot network and local printers.
  • Provide technical support to end users via phone, email, remote support tools, and in-person assistance.
  • Manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions in Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Install and configure hardware upgrades and replacement components as needed.
  • Document support activities, incidents, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate teams when necessary.
  • Maintain inventory of IT assets, including computers, monitors, printers, and accessories.
  • Follow established IT policies, procedures, and security standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of desktop support, help desk, or technical support experience.
  • Experience imaging and deploying computers using standard imaging tools and processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience troubleshooting desktops, laptop, hardware, and software issues.
  • Experience configuring and supporting printers, scanners, and related peripherals.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and wireless connectivity.
  • Experience with Active Directory user administration.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple support requests and meet service-level expectations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Familiarity with endpoint management tools such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM, or similar platforms.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or other relevant certifications.
  • Experience working in an enterprise IT environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to walk, bend, and perform workstation setups as needed.
