Position: Deskside Engineer
Location: Rosemont, IL 60018 (Onsite)
Hiring: Fulltime with Hexaware Technologies
Key Responsibilities:
- Image, configure, deploy, and maintain desktop and laptop computers.
- Install, upgrade, and support Windows operating systems and standard business applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues involving desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations, and peripherals.
- Diagnose and resolve software-related issues, including operating system errors, application failures, and connectivity problems.
- Configure, install, and troubleshoot network and local printers.
- Provide technical support to end users via phone, email, remote support tools, and in-person assistance.
- Manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions in Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Install and configure hardware upgrades and replacement components as needed.
- Document support activities, incidents, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
- Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate teams when necessary.
- Maintain inventory of IT assets, including computers, monitors, printers, and accessories.
- Follow established IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of desktop support, help desk, or technical support experience.
- Experience imaging and deploying computers using standard imaging tools and processes.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience troubleshooting desktops, laptop, hardware, and software issues.
- Experience configuring and supporting printers, scanners, and related peripherals.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and wireless connectivity.
- Experience with Active Directory user administration.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple support requests and meet service-level expectations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
- Familiarity with endpoint management tools such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM, or similar platforms.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or other relevant certifications.
- Experience working in an enterprise IT environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to walk, bend, and perform workstation setups as needed.
