Mechanical Engineer (only W2)

Minimum Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field and/or equivalent industry experience 
• 5+ years of industry experience in mechanical design, with demonstrated track record of shipping high‑volume commercial products and/or designing complex electromechanical assemblies in a research/prototype environment
• Demonstrated experience leading the design of complex assemblies and systems from concept to production
• Expertise using Nx/Teamcenter as a primary CAD software
• Expertise in 3D/2D CAD, DFM/DFA, GD&T, material properties, and high-volume manufacturing techniques 
• Candidate must be onsite in Redmond or Sunnyvale office

Job Description:

• CAD design of fixtures and adaptor plates using mechanical NX CAD tools.
• Full-platform CAD design — model the entire test assembly in CAD, integrating STEP files provided by instrument vendors.
• Fabrication support for all custom mechanical parts.
• Fab drawing release — produce and release fabrication drawings with appropriate GD&T and tolerancing.
• DFM reviews — conduct Design-for-Manufacturability reviews and iterate with US and/or APAC manufacturers.
• Build, test, and calibrate the platforms.
• Procurement — purchase cases (and associated packaging/consumables) for platform transport.
• Packaging & shipping of the completed platforms to customer sites.
• On-site assembly support at validation-team customer locations.

Skills & Qualifications

• Practicing Mechanical Engineer with hardware/optomechanical fixture and platform design experience.
• Proficiency in mechanical CAD tools (NX / Solidworks).
• Experience in thermal design, vibration analysis, dust-, and humidity mitigation experience releasing fabrication-drawing using PLM systems.
• Hands-on DFM experience working with US and APAC contract manufacturers.
• Build / test / calibration experience with precision mechanical assemblies.
• Comfortable with hands-on assembly, procurement logistics, and on-site customer support.
