We are recruiting for the Sr. Associate position in the Canada Tax for GMS Tax team with subject matter expertise in US 1040, 1040NR and foreign reporting forms. Working as Sr. Associate in this team, your responsibilities will include:

•Provide day to day support to Assistant Managers to assist with the delivery of tax computations and client service.
•Develops knowledge of current tax legislation across US Personal Tax.
•Involve majorly in advanced level preparation tasks and Review task of the job completed by the preparers.
•Act as buddy to the junior staffs and be in charge of their technical grooming.
•Demonstrates strong commitment to personal learning and development; acts as a brand ambassador to help attract top talent.
•Understands key business accounting concepts such as depreciation, provisions and has a fair understanding of financial statements.

This role is for you if you have  the below

Educational qualifications

•Minimum Master Degree from reputable universities with excellent academic result, majoring in Accounting or Finance

Work experience

•Minimum of 3 to 4 years of professional experience, preferably in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 public accounting firm.

Mandatory  technical & functional skills

•Strong tax accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP and tax compliance.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including spreadsheet programs (i.e. Excel).
•Understanding of US federal taxes, State returns, Foreign Reporting Forms, FAS.

Preferred technical & functional skills

•Able to adapt quickly to use new technologies.
•Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multitask and to work proactively with minimal instruction.
•Prioritization and time management skills.
•Good communication and interpersonal skills.
