Senior Data Streaming Engineer- W2

Location: Woodlawn, MD
Work Arrangement: 5 Days Onsite
Interview Process: Video Interview followed by In-Person Interview

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of progressive IT experience.
• 5+ years of experience working in enterprise-scale streaming or secure software delivery environments.
• Expert-level experience with Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Java, Avro, and Confluent Schema Registry.
• Strong understanding of Kafka internals, including brokers, partitions, replication, consumer groups, ISR behavior, retention, cluster health, ACLs, and RBAC.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka Streams or similar stateful streaming technologies.
• Strong experience designing and implementing CI/CD and DevSecOps practices using tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Bitbucket, and Nexus.
• Experience with secure microservices and Kafka client security configurations, including SSL/mTLS and SASL/OAUTHBEARER.
• Experience with vulnerability management, secure coding practices, dependency management, and remediation workflows.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues involving consumer lag, serialization failures, rebalancing, state stores, replication, memory, and performance.
• Experience developing enterprise-level reference architectures, technical standards, reusable libraries, templates, and documentation.
• Strong communication and technical leadership skills, with the ability to guide multiple development and platform teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Experience with Confluent Platform and enterprise Kafka security.
• Experience supporting large-scale streaming workloads.
• Experience with distributed-system debugging and production incident triage.
• Experience working within a Center of Excellence, architecture council, or multi-team governance environment
