Solutions Engineer - ETL Developer
Overview

We are seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer - ETL Developer to design, develop, and support business intelligence, data warehousing, reporting, and integration solutions. This role is responsible for building scalable data pipelines, developing data models and warehouses, creating dashboards and reports, and ensuring the reliability and performance of enterprise data solutions.

The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders throughout the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and prototyping through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. This position offers the opportunity to solve complex business challenges by leveraging modern data engineering, analytics, and cloud technologies.
Compensation
  • Pay Rate: $72.00 - $80.00 per hour
  • Compensation is based on experience, technical expertise, and overall qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Data Architecture & Modeling
  • Design, implement, and optimize conceptual, logical, and physical data models using dimensional modeling, star schemas, Data Vault, or third normal form (3NF) methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain scalable data structures that support enterprise reporting and analytics.
ETL/ELT Development
  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain automated ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
  • Integrate data from internal and external systems to support business intelligence and operational reporting needs.
  • Develop and manage SSIS packages and related data integration solutions.
Data Warehouse & Data Mart Development
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise data warehouses and subject-specific data marts.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, security, and performance across data platforms.
Reporting & Business Intelligence
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and operational reports using Power BI.
  • Create paginated reports and self-service reporting solutions to support business users.
  • Translate business requirements into meaningful data visualizations and insights.
Support & Optimization
  • Monitor daily data loads and troubleshoot data pipeline failures.
  • Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL processes for performance and scalability.
  • Maintain and enhance existing reporting, integration, and data warehouse solutions.
Collaboration & Project Delivery
  • Partner with business stakeholders, program managers, and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Participate in project planning, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and recommend innovative approaches to data management and analytics.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Development, Business Intelligence, or a related role.
  • Strong expertise in relational and dimensional data modeling, including fact and dimension table design.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency, including complex query development, dynamic SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • Experience designing and developing ETL/ELT solutions using modern data integration tools such as Azure Data Factory.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, and SSRS.
  • Proficiency in developing Power BI dashboards and paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder.
  • Experience working with cloud-based or traditional data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or SQL Server.
  • Experience leveraging AI/ML tools or large language model (LLM) technologies to enhance data processing, automation, or predictive analytics.
  • Experience administering and managing Azure cloud environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with .NET development.
  • Experience with Python or similar programming languages for data processing and automation.
  • Knowledge of predictive analytics, applied statistics, and advanced analytical techniques.
  • Experience deploying and managing Azure infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Experience designing and implementing system integrations using REST APIs, SOAP services, webhooks, or middleware solutions.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools such as Git.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with iterative development and rapid prototyping methodologies.
Work Environment
  • Hybrid work schedule:
    • Tuesday through Thursday: Onsite
    • Monday and Friday: Remote
  • Flexible 8-hour workday with start and end times between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
