Detailed Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Ontology Product Owner to lead the development, management, and governance of enterprise ontologies and semantic data models across mortgage origination, servicing, analytics, and AI platforms.

The role will be responsible for translating business concepts into standardized, reusable domain models that define enterprise entities, relationships, attributes, business rules, and controlled vocabularies. The Product Owner will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineering, enterprise architecture, and AI teams to ensure consistent data interpretation and enable knowledge graphs, analytics, and AI-driven workflows.

Responsibilities

·         Own the ontology product vision, roadmap, backlog, release planning, and adoption strategy.

·         Define and maintain enterprise ontologies, domain models, entity relationships, class hierarchies, attributes, cardinality, inheritance, and constraints.

·         Establish standardized business terminology, taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and semantic definitions.

·         Develop ontology governance frameworks covering stewardship, versioning, change control, lineage, impact assessment, and quality metrics.

·         Collaborate with mortgage business SMEs, data engineers, enterprise architects, risk, and compliance teams to define and validate domain models.

·         Translate business requirements into epics, user stories, competency questions, acceptance criteria, and validation test scenarios.

·         Map source-system data elements to ontology concepts and ensure semantic consistency across integrated applications.

Top 5 Must-Have Skills:

·         Product Ownership / Business Analysis experience (5+ years).

·         Ontology and Semantic Modeling.

·         RDF, OWL, SPARQL, or Knowledge Graphs.
