Office Administrator: Accounting Business

Rockhampton, QLD Full-time

CROSS Recruit are recruiting on behalf of a well-established local accounting business for an Office Administrator to join their team. This is a front-of-house and back-office combined role, ideal for someone who's confident with clients and has a good comprehension of numbers.

About the role:

You'll be the first point of contact for clients walking through the door or calling in, alongside handling day-to-day financial administration. The business runs on a personal, family-oriented approach with clients, so remembering names and building genuine rapport matters here as much as accuracy on the books.

What you'll be doing:

  • Greeting clients and managing front-of-house enquiries with warmth and professionalism
  • Processing financial administration tasks using accounting and practice management software such as Xero, ATOmate and MYOB
  • General Microsoft Office administration (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Supporting the accounting team with day-to-day client and office needs
  • Maintaining accurate records and following up on outstanding items
Requirements

What their looking for:

  • Accounting or financial administrative experience highly regarded
  • Experience with accounting software such as Xero, ATOmate and MYOB (or similar platforms)
  • A polished, professional presentation for client-facing work
  • Strong memory for names and faces, and a genuine interest in people

This is a chance to join a business that prides itself on treating clients like family, not file numbers. If you like the idea of knowing your clients by name and being part of a close-knit, well-established local firm, this could be a great fit.

  • Join a well-established local business with a strong reputation and loyal client base built over many years
  • Work in a genuine family business environment where staff and clients are treated as part of the fold, not just numbers on a page
  • Enjoy the lifestyle that comes with regional Queensland living: less traffic, more affordable housing, and a genuine sense of community
  • Just a 30-minute drive from the coast, giving you easy access to the beach on weekends or after work
  • Stable, established local employer with room to build a long-term career
