Job Description

SUMMARY:
We're seeking an experienced Network Engineer to manage our global data, voice, and security infrastructure. In this role, you'll help ensure our network operations are reliable, accessible, secure, responsive, and cost-effective across national and international locations. You'll administer critical network technologies, partner with internal teams and external providers, and develop solutions that support the organization's evolving business needs.
REQUIREMENTS:
Global Network Infrastructure
  • Administer network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, security devices, wireless access points, and network administration software.
  • Manage LAN, WAN, global network, VPN, internet circuit, and enterprise wireless LAN environments.
  • Maintain network documentation and oversee monitoring, logging, alerting, and reporting.
  • Design, configure, maintain, and secure global network systems and services.
Vendor, Technology & Roadmap Management
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with new and existing business partners, vendors, and manufacturers.
  • Stay current with advancements in networking technology.
  • Develop network roadmaps that define the planned adoption of network technologies.
  • Propose networking solutions that address business challenges and operational needs.
Moves, Adds & Changes
  • Install new network hardware, systems, and software.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network services, equipment, and devices.
  • Integrate voice and data networks where applicable.
Technical Support & Collaboration
  • Troubleshoot and analyze issues across our networks.
  • Document network incidents, root causes, and resolutions for future reference.
  • Provide training and technical support to users with varying levels of IT knowledge.
  • Work closely with other departments, external organizations, and IT team members.
Performance & Service Management
  • Monitor system performance and implement performance tuning.
  • Manage outsourced Network Operations Center (NOC) activities, review trend reports, and make recommendations.
  • Adjust WAN services to optimize performance while controlling cost.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance and operational reviews.
Network Security
  • Ensure network configurations comply with guidelines established by the IT Security Administrator.
  • Monitor and maintain network security controls, including firewalls.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience administering a Cisco data network.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching, ASA, and network administration.
  • Thorough knowledge of networking fundamentals and the OSI network model.
  • Experience with network devices, policies, access rights, and security in a networked environment.
  • Experience implementing and administering TCP/IP-based services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, and SMTP.
  • Experience with TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, and QoS configuration.
  • Experience with WAN technologies such as ATM or MPLS.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
Preferred:
  • Experience with security principles, including Cisco ASA Firewall and/or Zone-Based Firewall.
  • Project management and vendor management experience.
  • A proactive approach to technology planning, continuous improvement, and cross-functional problem solving.
