Job Description

U.S. Navy Marine Diesel Engineer | Bridgeport, NJ, United States | Hybrid

We're hiring on behalf of a well-established engineering firm that excels in providing critical support to maritime operations. They are seeking to add a skilled Marine Diesel Engineer to their dynamic team, contributing to vital national defense initiatives.

The Role

  • Support diesel engine propulsion systems and ship service diesel generators for Navy vessels.
  • Conduct data analysis, develop logistics, and support project planning and test procedures.
  • Perform ship visits for inspections and data collection, including engine calibration and governor control verification.
  • Troubleshoot diesel propulsion and generation systems, and support installation of new system upgrades.
  • Work collaboratively with program managers, engineers, and Navy personnel.
  • Assist with meeting and presentation support, and other assigned duties.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution is mandatory.
  • Up to 5 years of experience in diesel engine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Recent graduates from a Maritime Academy are preferred.
  • Shipboard experience is desired.
  • A US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
