Pay Range - $69 - $72/hr
Role - Project Manager Lead - Data Migration & Contract Transition
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership
- Develop and maintain the integrated project plan, including scope, milestones, tasks, dependencies, resources, and deadlines.
- Coordinate cross-functional technical and business teams, facilitate project meetings, document decisions and action items, and hold stakeholders accountable for deliverables.
- Track project progress, risks, issues, and dependencies; identify roadblocks and drive timely resolution.
- Provide regular project status updates and readouts to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Manage migration activities through planning, testing, implementation, and post-migration stabilization to ensure deadlines and acceptance criteria are met.
Data Migration & Conversion
- Oversee the identification and inventory of products, services, assets, customer information, billing records, and other data requiring migration.
- Coordinate analysis of legacy systems, databases, spreadsheets, and existing billing/asset information to establish source-to-target data relationships.
- Lead coordination of data mapping, cleansing, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and exception management.
- Oversee the identification and resolution of duplicate, missing, or inaccurate data.
- Coordinate development and validation of migration templates, bulk-load files, and automated data loads through staging and production.
- Ensure migrated data is complete and accurate, including product, asset, customer, service, and billing relationships.
Technical & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with technical, database, billing, product, operations, and business teams to translate technical requirements into actionable project tasks and deliverables.
- Apply working knowledge of relational databases, data structures, large data sets, and migration processes to effectively manage technical teams.
- Quickly learn complex legacy systems, telecommunications products, and business processes and use that knowledge to identify risks and challenge potential issues.
- Facilitate cross-functional problem solving and drive teams toward resolution without requiring hands-on execution of the technical work.
- Maintain clear documentation and ensure stakeholders remain aligned throughout the migration.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience managing complex, cross-functional technology, data migration, system conversion, or operational projects.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale data migration or legacy-system conversion projects.
- Strong understanding of data mapping, transformation, validation, cleansing, and reconciliation.
- Working knowledge of relational databases, database structures/tables, and source-to-target data relationships.
- Experience working with large data sets; experience managing migrations involving millions of records is highly desirable.
- Strong project planning, organization, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple teams and manage dependencies without direct reporting authority.
- Ability to understand technical requirements and data structures without needing to perform the technical work directly.
- Highly proactive, self-directed, and comfortable taking ownership of complex projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Telecommunications, communications, networking, or related industry experience.
- Experience with legacy communications products and services such as network circuits, Ethernet, VPN, fiber, wireless, voice, routers, switches, or other telecommunications services.
- Experience managing billing, asset, inventory, or customer-data migrations.
- Experience with legacy-to-modern system conversions, such as HR, ERP, billing, asset-management, or other enterprise platforms.
- Working knowledge of SQL, data-query tools, ETL processes, or database migration tools.
- Experience with government or State of California projects.
- PMP or comparable project-management certification.
