Job Description

Position: Senior Scrum Master

Duration: 12 Months

Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite) 

Job Summary
As a Senior Scrum Master, you will serve as a servant-leader and coach for multiple Agile teams, ensuring adherence to Scrum principles, facilitating end-to-end ceremonies, and enabling continuous improvement. You will partner closely with Product Owners, stakeholders, and other Scrum Masters to drive delivery excellence, cross-team collaboration, and strong software quality.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate Agile Ceremonies

o Organize and lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews/demos, retrospectives, and release planning workshops.
o Maintain sprint progress visibility using dashboards, burndown charts, velocity tracking, and big visible charts.
Remove Impediments & Manage Dependencies
o Identify and proactively resolve blockers, coordinating across teams or escalating when necessary.
o Handle external dependencies, mitigate risks, and foster quick decision-making.
Coach & Mentor Agile Teams
o Educate teams and Product Owners on Agile practices, backlog creation techniques, and maintaining “Definition of Ready/Done”.
o Encourage self-organization, conflict resolution, continuous improvement, and productivity enhancements.
Champion Scrum & Agile Adoption
o Promote transparency through all Scrum events, foster servant leadership, and encourage agile values.
o Collaborate with other Scrum Masters to scale Agile across teams and improve overall Agile maturity.
Track Metrics & Report Progress
o Capture and report team performance metrics—velocity, burn-down, defect trends—to stakeholders.
o Use data-driven insights to identify opportunities for process improvements.
Ensure Quality & Delivery Excellence
o Advocate for test automation, quality goals, and stable sprint execution without compromising deliverables.
o Coach teams to craft clear, well-formed user stories and uphold acceptance criteria.
Qualifications & Experience
• Experience:

o 6 to 8 years in Agile environments with a minimum of 2 to 3 years as a Scrum Master.
o Demonstrated experience guiding multiple, cross-functional Agile teams and scaled environments.
• Education & Certifications:
o Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or related field [1].
o Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent; additional certifications (PMP, CSP, SAFe, ITIL) preferred.
• Skills & Competencies:
o Strong proficiency with Scrum theory and Agile frameworks (Kanban, XP, etc.)
o Excellent facilitation, communication, conflict-resolution, and coaching abilities.
o Experience with Agile tools like Jira, Confluence, Rally or Trello; proficient with transparency and reporting dashboards.
