Role Summary

We are looking for a hands-on AWS Data Architect to design, build, and scale enterprise data platforms for a leading Wealth Management client. This role requires strong architecture ownership combined with hands-on development of modern AWS-based data ecosystems, real-time pipelines, and governed data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build AWS data lakes, lakehouses, and enterprise data warehouses
  • Develop batch and real-time data pipelines using AWS native services
  • Architect and optimize large-scale ETL/ELT frameworks using Python, PySpark, and SQL
  • Implement CDC and streaming architectures using Kafka/MSK, Kinesis, and event-driven patterns
  • Lead data modeling initiatives (dimensional, OLTP, OLAP)
  • Drive performance tuning for Spark, Redshift, and distributed workloads
  • Implement governance, lineage, security, and compliance standards for regulated financial data
  • Build CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform/CloudFormation
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor engineering teams

Required Skills

  • 14 19 years in Data Engineering / Data Architecture
  • 6+ years of AWS Data Architecture experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • AWS Glue, EMR, Lambda
    • S3, Redshift, Aurora/RDS
    • Kinesis, MSK (Kafka)
    • Athena, Redshift Spectrum
    • Step Functions, Airflow (MWAA)
    • Lake Formation, IAM, KMS
  • Advanced Python, PySpark, SQL
  • Strong experience with:
    • Spark and distributed processing
    • Real-time & streaming architectures
    • CDC frameworks
    • Data warehousing & dimensional modeling
    • CI/CD & DevOps practices

Preferred Skills

  • AWS Solutions Architect Professional and/or AWS Data Analytics Specialty
  • Snowflake and/or Databricks
  • Delta Lake, Iceberg, Hudi, Lakehouse architectures
  • Collibra, Alation, Glue Catalog, Great Expectations, Deequ
  • Wealth Management, Banking, Capital Markets, AML/KYC, Risk & Compliance experience

Ideal Candidate

Architects and codes hands-on
Deep AWS data platform expertise
Strong PySpark, Streaming, and Lakehouse experience
Experience handling regulated financial data (PII/PCI)
Can lead architecture decisions while remaining deeply technical
