·      We are seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Engineer to join our Data Engineering team on a 12+ month contract engagement, with positions available in Phoenix, AZ and Wheeling, WV.

·      This is a hands-on technical role focused on developing, administering, and supporting Snowflake-based data warehousing solutions.

·      The engineer will partner closely with Data Engineering, Analytics, BI, and Reporting teams to build scalable data models, develop and maintain transformation pipelines, optimize platform performance, and support enterprise reporting requirements.

·      This role is not an architecture or advisory position — it is a delivery-focused, development and support role operating within established governance and architecture standards.

The Client works in the Banking Sector.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Build enterprise-level Snowflake models including conformed dimensions, fact tables, and semantic views; document ERDs and physical/logical architectures.

·      Develop, test, and support SQL transformations across Snowflake data warehouse layers using Snowflake SQL and dbt; maintain dbt models and tests supporting Informatica data pipelines.

·      Implement and support Snowflake Tasks, Streams, stored procedures, and scheduled workflows; perform unit, integration, and validation testing prior to production release.

·      Participate in schema and object deployments using Git-based version control; maintain source control, versioning, and change documentation for all Snowflake database objects.

·      Implement and maintain Snowflake security configurations including RBAC, object permissions, row-level security, and masking policies; support audit and compliance activities.

·      Generate and maintain Snowflake consumption and usage reports; identify opportunities to improve warehouse utilization, storage efficiency, and query performance.

·      Collaborate with BI teams to optimize datasets for Power BI, Qlik, and other analytical tools; coordinate with Platform Administrators on environment setup, migrations, and operational readiness.

·      Work with Data Governance teams to apply and validate data quality standards, data classifications, and masking policies within Snowflake.

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience:

·      Snowflake SQL: 5+ years of advanced SQL development, including complex query optimisation, data modelling, performance tuning, and ETL/ELT development within Snowflake environments.

·      Snowflake Administration: 3+ years of hands-on experience administering Snowflake platforms, including RBAC, warehouse management, monitoring, performance optimization, and cost governance.

·      dbt (Data Build Tool): 4+ years designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data transformation frameworks using dbt, including testing, documentation, and CI/CD integration.

·      Git / Version Control: 5+ years using Git-based source control systems (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket) for collaborative development, branching strategies, code reviews, and release management.

·      CI/CD Pipelines & Deployment Automation: 5+ years implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines for data warehouse and analytics deployments using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or equivalent platforms.

·      Experience with Informatica IDMC.

Preferred Qualifications:

·      Financial services industry experience.

·      Experience with Business Objects (SAP BO / Web Intelligence).

·      Additional Requirements:
