NAVAL ARCHITECT | Brandywine, MD, United States | Hybrid

We're hiring on behalf of a leading organization within the defense sector, renowned for its critical role in naval engineering and systems integration. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to major aircraft carrier programs, driving innovation and ensuring the successful development and integration of complex naval systems.

The Role

  • Manage naval architecture aspects for major aircraft carrier program systems integration, providing a key platform perspective.
  • Develop and establish engineering policy for compliance by project engineers, PARMs/ISEAs, and contractors.
  • Plan, design, and report on high-risk engineering operations for system and aircraft carrier design.
  • Identify technically acceptable options and negotiate resolutions for challenging integration issues.
  • Represent engineering policy matters to negotiate decisions affecting system of systems and ship integration.
  • Evaluate and incorporate the latest developments in Naval Architecture and Engineering Systems.

What You'll Need

  • US Citizenship.
  • Minimum of one year of specialized experience in managing systems engineering projects for ship design, development, maintenance, or modernization.
  • A professional engineering degree with ABET accreditation or equivalent coursework and experience.
  • Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) is acceptable.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • DAWIA certification in the assigned Acquisition Functional Area within established timeframes.
