  • Perform heating and cooling load calculations, ventilation calculations, equipment sizing, pressure relationship analysis, and mechanical system selections.
  • Design and specify mechanical systems including air-handling systems, hydronic systems, central plants, pumps, chillers, boilers, fans, and associated controls.
  • Develop mechanical drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, and other technical deliverables using Revit and applicable design tools.
  • Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, medical equipment, and other disciplines.
  • Support healthcare projects from concept design through construction administration and project closeout.
  • Perform site surveys and field investigations to evaluate existing mechanical systems and infrastructure.
  • Participate in client meetings, user-group discussions, design coordination meetings, and construction meetings.
  • Support compliance with applicable healthcare facility requirements and California building and mechanical codes.

  • Perform field observations and support resolution of construction-related mechanical issues.
  • Maintain WSP's QA/QC standards through technical reviews of calculations, drawings, specifications, and other engineering deliverables.
  • Manage assigned mechanical scope, schedules, deliverables, and project budgets in coordination with Project Managers.
  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor for junior mechanical engineers and designers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, architects, contractors, and other project partners.
  • Assist with proposals, scopes of work, fee development, and other business development activities as needed.
