About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Java Application Architect with strong hands-on experience in Java development, application architecture, and application security.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of Java development experience, strong expertise in Spring/Spring Boot, and experience designing secure, scalable enterprise applications. This is a hands-on architecture role requiring technical leadership, coding, architecture design, security reviews, and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop secure, scalable enterprise applications using Java/J2EE and Spring Boot.
  • Define and drive application and technical architecture for complex applications.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, technical design reviews, and code reviews.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentor development teams.
  • Design and support applications in a SaaS/multi-tenant environment.
  • Perform application security assessments and support vulnerability remediation.
  • Apply Secure SDLC, OWASP, and application security best practices.
  • Review application architecture, APIs, data flows, authentication, and authorization.
  • Conduct POCs and evaluate new technologies and frameworks.
  • Support production applications, including security, stability, performance, and incident response.
  • Work closely with engineering leadership, product owners, developers, and other stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of hands-on Java/J2EE development experience.
  • 3+ years of Application, Technical, or Software Architecture experience.
  • Strong experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, JPA, and Hibernate.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, Microservices, and enterprise application architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with Application Security / AppSec.
  • Knowledge of Secure SDLC and OWASP principles.
  • Experience with authentication, authorization, API security, and secure coding practices.
  • Experience conducting code reviews and technical/architecture reviews.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL/Oracle.
  • Experience with scalable, high-availability applications.
  • Strong communication, technical leadership, and mentoring skills.

Preferred Skills

  • SaaS or multi-tenant application architecture.
  • Experience with SAST, DAST, vulnerability scanning, or application security tools.
  • Cloud and CI/CD experience.
  • Production support and incident response experience.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development or modern technology evaluations.
