Role Focus

• Hands on execution role, taking products from prototype through go to market.
• Build cost models, manage Agile BOM rollups, track costs, and assess supplier readiness.
• Understand tooling funding requirements.
• Partner with sourcing, manufacturing, and commodity teams. Evaluate supplier strategy and explain where they agree or disagree.
• Manage part numbers and work with the GCM team on end of lifecycle issues.

Top 3 Skills

1. Data Analysis and Microsoft 365.
2. Cost analysis, including bottoms up costing.
3. Sourcing experience.

Must Haves - IMPORTANT to get shortlisted for an interview.

• NPI operations experience, including phase gate processes. This is a firm requirement because the team needs someone productive within 2 to 3 weeks.
• Direct ownership of cost reduction and cost management, supported by specific examples.
• Technical foundation through education or professional experience, with an understanding of the actual parts and components.
• Strong organization and ability to work with substantial amounts of data.

Ideal Background

• Approximately 3 to 5 years of supply chain experience.
• Hardware and electromechanical experience is strongly preferred.
• Direct experience with RFPs and RFQs for electromechanical direct materials.
• Strong resumes will demonstrate cost tracking, supplier readiness, and a clear understanding of the parts involved.

Tools

• Agile, Oracle, internal tools, Excel, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365.
• The team can teach specific tools. A strong costing foundation is more important than familiarity with a particular system.

Interview Process and Preparation

• Writing assignment before the interview.
• Panel interview with 2 to 3 interviewers.
• Prepare six strong STAR examples, avoiding repeated examples.
• Draw from the full range of career experience, rather than focusing only on the current role.
• Expect discussion around product cost, product lifecycle, supplier readiness, and direct ownership of cost reduction and cost management.
• Include measurable results where possible.

Leadership Principles

• Be prepared to discuss all 16 Leadership Principles.
• Particular emphasis on Bias for Action, Ownership, Customer Obsession, and Earn Trust.
