Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with 8+ years of experience in Capital Markets to serve as a subject matter expert and bridge business, operations, and technology teams. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of financial markets, hands-on experience with multiple asset classes, and expertise in trade lifecycle processes and front-to-back workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a Capital Markets Business Analyst SME, providing expertise across trading, operations, risk, and technology functions.
• Work directly with traders, sales teams, and middle-office stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into detailed requirements.
• Develop clear and comprehensive Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), process flows, and workflow specifications.
• Demonstrate hands-on knowledge of Capital Markets asset classes, including Fixed Income, Equities, FX, and/or Derivatives.
• Analyze and improve end-to-end trade lifecycle processes, including trade capture, allocation, confirmation, settlement, position management, and reconciliation.
• Investigate and resolve trade exceptions, breaks, settlement failures, reconciliation discrepancies, and downstream processing issues.
• Analyze breaks between trading platforms, middle-office systems, risk platforms, and downstream operational systems and coordinate resolution with appropriate teams.
• Support system implementations, enhancements, and software releases by defining requirements and ensuring business functionality aligns with operational needs.
• Develop UAT strategies, test scenarios, test cases, and scripts, and coordinate testing with business users and technology teams.
• Support operational readiness, release validation, and production implementation activities.
• Act as the key liaison between Front Office trading desks, Middle Office, Risk, Operations, and IT/Development teams.
• Facilitate requirements discussions, process reviews, issue resolution meetings, and stakeholder communications.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, automation, controls, and trade-processing accuracy.
• Ensure business requirements and functional solutions are clearly documented and aligned with regulatory, operational, and business objectives.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within Capital Markets/Financial Services.
• Strong experience serving as a Capital Markets SME in business analysis or technology-driven transformation initiatives.
• Hands-on knowledge of one or more major asset classes: Fixed Income, Equities, FX, and Derivatives.
• Strong understanding of the front-to-back trade lifecycle.
• Experience with trade capture, allocation, confirmation, settlement, position reconciliation, and exception/break management.
• Proven experience creating BRDs, FRDs, workflow/process documentation, and functional specifications.
• Experience supporting UAT, test script development, system implementations, releases, and operational readiness.
• Strong ability to work across Front Office, Middle Office, Risk, Operations, and IT.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Hanover, MD for the duration of the engagement.
