Are you a driven Business Development Manager with a passion for building relationships and delivering commercial growth?

Our client is a market-leading manufacturer seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to identify new opportunities, strengthen customer partnerships, and drive sustainable revenue growth across key industries including manufacturing, transport, mining, construction, defence and government.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for growing market share through strategic business development initiatives while managing key customer relationships and identifying new revenue opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing business development strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities across target markets.
  • Building and managing a strong sales pipeline.
  • Developing long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Preparing high-quality quotations, tenders, proposals and commercial presentations.
  • Negotiating commercial agreements and contracts.
  • Collaborating with finance and senior leadership on pricing strategies and profitability.
  • Representing the business at industry events, conferences and customer meetings.
  • Working cross-functionally with engineering, production and operations to deliver customer solutions.
  • Contributing to strategic planning and business growth initiatives.
  • Achieving annual sales and gross profit targets.
About You

To be successful, you will have:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Business Development or similar commercial role.
  • Proven success achieving sales and revenue targets.
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, industrial, defence or government sectors is highly regarded.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Experience preparing tenders, quotations and commercial proposals.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • High attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills.
  • Strong CRM and Microsoft Office experience.
  • The ability to build trusted relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
Highly Regarded

Experience or established networks within any of the following industries will be advantageous:

  • Industrial manufacturing
  • Engineering

A postgraduate qualification in Business, Sales, Commerce or Marketing will also be viewed favorably.
