Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Platform Platform Architect to design, architect, implement, and govern scalable, secure, and highly available cloud platforms on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of overall IT experience with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform architecture, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, security, networking, automation, and DevOps.

The Google Cloud Platform Platform Architect will work closely with application, data, security, DevOps, and enterprise architecture teams to establish cloud platforms that support enterprise-scale workloads while following best practices for security, reliability, performance, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and define enterprise-grade Google Cloud Platform cloud platform architecture aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Develop Google Cloud Platform landing zones, organization structures, folders, projects, billing accounts, and resource hierarchies.
• Architect secure and scalable solutions using core Google Cloud Platform services such as Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, Spanner, Dataflow, and Dataproc.
• Design and implement Google Cloud Platform networking architectures, including VPC, Shared VPC, subnets, firewall policies, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud NAT, VPN, and Interconnect.
• Establish cloud security architecture using IAM, service accounts, organization policies, VPC Service Controls, Secret Manager, Cloud KMS, Security Command Center, and other Google Cloud Platform security services.
• Define and implement platform engineering and DevOps standards for cloud environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Design CI/CD pipelines and integrate Google Cloud Platform platforms with enterprise DevOps tools.
• Architect containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes/GKE.
• Implement cloud monitoring, logging, alerting, observability, and operational standards using Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and enterprise monitoring tools.
• Develop strategies for high availability, disaster recovery, backup, business continuity, and resiliency.
• Perform cloud architecture reviews and identify opportunities for performance, scalability, security, and cost optimization.
• Define standards for multi-environment architectures such as Development, QA, UAT, and Production.
• Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives, including application and infrastructure migration to Google Cloud Platform.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, security teams, application teams, data engineers, and DevOps teams to ensure architecture alignment.
• Create architecture diagrams, technical design documents, standards, reference architectures, and implementation guidelines.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cloud engineers and platform teams.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and platform issues and provide architectural recommendations.
• Ensure solutions comply with enterprise security, governance, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• 12+ years of overall IT experience with significant experience in cloud architecture.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
• Proven experience designing enterprise Google Cloud Platform platform architecture.
• Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform Landing Zones and cloud governance.
• Expertise in Google Cloud Platform IAM, organization policies, service accounts, and security architecture.
• Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform networking, including VPC, Shared VPC, subnets, firewall rules, Cloud NAT, VPN, Interconnect, and Load Balancing.
• Strong experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and GKE.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, monitoring, logging, and observability.
• Experience designing highly available, scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant cloud solutions.
• Strong understanding of cloud migration and modernization strategies.
• Excellent architecture documentation and communication skills.
