Business Systems Analyst

Hybrid - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in office.

Must be in Columbus, OH.

Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen

Must be able to work as a W2 employee

Pay range is $45-55 an hour (W2) based on experience. This is a contract job through summer of 2027 with possible extension past that date.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to support a large retail organization s credit card and customer loyalty transformation. This role will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements and helping deliver technology solutions that improve the customer experience.

The ideal candidate has experience working within a large enterprise environment, is comfortable operating in Agile teams, and can effectively partner across business, software development, data, UX, and marketing organizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, document, and translate business needs into functional and technical requirements.
• Create and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and supporting functional documentation.
• Collaborate with Software Development, Data, UX, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to deliver program enhancements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and related testing activities.
• Use Jira to manage requirements, user stories, priorities, dependencies, and project progress.
• Identify process improvement opportunities, system dependencies, risks, and gaps throughout the project lifecycle.
• Partner with development and QA teams to clarify requirements and support successful delivery.
• Support testing, validation, implementation, and rollout of new features and functionality.
• Communicate effectively between technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the initiative.

Qualifications

• Professional experience as a Business Systems Analyst or Business Analyst within a large enterprise environment.
• Strong requirements gathering, analysis, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Hands-on experience creating user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
• Working knowledge of Jira for requirements and backlog management.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with both business and technical teams, including software development and data organizations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:

• Retail or consumer-facing enterprise environments
• Financial services or credit card programs
• Customer loyalty or rewards programs
• Large-scale digital or customer experience transformations
