The Opportunity

We are working with a growing organisation within the care sector to recruit an experienced HR Manager to lead and develop its people function. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven, commercially minded HR professional with a strong generalist background who is looking to take ownership, influence business decisions and build towards a future HR Director position. With a clear vision for the development of the HR function and a genuine opportunity for progression, this role would suit someone who is passionate about people, enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment and is keen to develop both themselves and those around them.

The Role

As HR Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of the HR function, providing practical, commercially focused advice and support to managers while ensuring people processes support the wider objectives of the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the delivery of a broad HR generalist service across the organisation.
• Providing expert advice and guidance on employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, performance and capability.
• Coaching and developing managers to build their confidence and capability in managing people effectively.
• Supporting workforce planning, recruitment, retention and employee engagement initiatives.
• Reviewing and improving HR policies, procedures and processes to ensure they remain effective and fit for purpose.
• Working closely with senior stakeholders to identify people-related challenges and implement practical solutions.
• Supporting organisational development, change initiatives and the ongoing growth of the business.
• Developing the HR function with a focus on continuous improvement, compliance and best practice.
• Building strong relationships across the organisation and helping to shape a positive, high-performing culture.

About You

We are looking for an ambitious and proactive HR professional who combines strong generalist HR knowledge with the confidence and drive to take the function forward.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience in a broad HR generalist or HR management role.
• Experience working within the care sector or a similar operationally focused environment.
• Strong employee relations experience and the ability to manage complex people matters confidently.
• Experience coaching, supporting and developing managers.
• The ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and build credible working relationships.
• A hands-on approach, with the confidence to balance operational HR delivery with longer-term strategic priorities.
• A proactive mindset, with a genuine interest in improving processes and developing the HR function.
• The ambition to progress into a senior HR leadership role in the future.
