The Role

• An experienced HR Manager to take full ownership of the HR function within a independent hotel with a team of 150 staff
• Reporting directly to the General Manager
• Taking responsibility for the full day-to-day HR function across the hotel
• Working as a hands-on HR generalist, supporting the full employee lifecycle
• Being a visible and approachable presence on site, working closely with employees and Heads of Department
• Providing HR guidance and support to managers and employees across the business
• Managing the full onboarding process, including new starter documentation and reference checks
• Managing overseas employment contracts and live-in staff contracts
• Supporting recruitment, employee relations, performance management and employee engagement
• Coordinating staff training, meetings and HR initiatives
• Maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring compliance with employment legislation
• Working closely with the General Manager and HOD team to support recruitment, retention and development
• Identifying and implementing improvements to the hotel's HR processes and employee experience

The Requirements

• Proven experience as an HR Manager or HR Generalist, ideally within a hotel environment
• CIPD Level 5 qualification is essential
• Strong hospitality or hotel HR experience is essential
• A broad generalist HR background, with experience across the full employee lifecycle
• A hands-on HR professional who enjoys being visible and involved in the operation
• Confident dealing with employees and managers at all levels
• Strong knowledge of HR processes, employee relations and employment legislation
• Highly organised, resilient and able to manage a varied workload
• A proactive 'can-do' attitude and practical approach to problem solving
• Professional, approachable and confident
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
