Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced RF Test Engineer to conduct design verification and system validation on wireless hardware devices. You will be responsible for executing conducted and radiated RF performance tests, managing specialized anechoic test chambers, running call-box testing, performing hardware rework, and utilizing Python automation scripts to analyze RF test metrics.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

  • RF System Validation: Perform conducted and radiated RF testing for design verification, including RF performance, inter-radio interference, noise floor (RSSI), multi-radio coexistence, and throughput.

  • Chamber & Call Box Testing: Execute Radiated/Conducted TRP, TIS, and aGPS tests in signaling and non-signaling modes using specialized test chambers (R&S Anechoic, BlueTest, GTS) and wireless call boxes (Rohde & Schwarz, Agilent/Keysight, Anritsu).

  • Data Processing & Reporting: Collect raw RF test metrics, run automated on-device tests using internal tools, and analyze results using Python scripts and spreadsheet databases to generate test reports.

  • Lab & Equipment Maintenance: Set up, calibrate, and maintain high-frequency RF test equipment, lab tooling, and workspace materials within an R&D lab setting.

  • Hardware Rework & Mockups: Perform precision hardware rework, soldering, and custom board/device mockups for specialized RF testing environments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent practical RF lab experience.

  • RF Testing Expertise: Practical experience conducting RF system-level validation, including TRP, TIS, RSSI, and coexistence testing.

  • Equipment Knowledge: Hands-on experience operating RF call boxes (R&S, Keysight/Agilent, Anritsu) and test chambers (Anechoic, Reverberation/BlueTest).

  • Scripting & Data Analysis: Ability to write and modify Python scripts and spreadsheets to process raw RF data and automate reporting workflows.

  • Hardware Skills: Demonstrated experience with micro-soldering, board rework, and custom fixture setup for RF test measurements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with multi-radio co-existence, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular (LTE/5G), and GPS/aGPS test methodologies.

  • Deep knowledge of non-signaling automation frameworks and on-device testing tools.
