Electrical Commissioning Lead
Location: Reno, NV
Duration: 12+ Months
Work Schedule: 10 Days On / 4 Days Off (10/4)



Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Lead / Electrical Commissioning Engineer to support a large-scale project in Reno, NV. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with MV/LV electrical systems, power distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, ATS, NETA testing, and electrical energization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead L1-L2 pre-functional electrical verification and commissioning activities.
  • Verify installation, QA/QC documentation, torque testing, insulation resistance testing, and NETA test results.
  • Support commissioning of MV/LV switchgear, transformers, MCC/MDB, ATS, generators, load centers, and panelboards.
  • Verify protective device settings and electrical equipment readiness before energization.
  • Lead L3 electrical energization, including phasing, voltage verification, protective settings, and approved energization sequences.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, QA/QC, controls, mechanical, and commissioning teams.
  • Track and resolve commissioning issues using CX Alloy.
  • Support L4-L5 functional testing, troubleshooting, and final commissioning.
  • Provide field leadership and technical support throughout the commissioning process.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical commissioning, electrical construction, or power systems.
  • Strong MV/LV electrical distribution experience.
  • Experience with switchgear, transformers, generators, ATS, MCC/MDB, and protective devices.
  • Experience with NETA testing and electrical energization.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and single-line diagrams.
  • Strong field coordination and troubleshooting skills.
  • Data center / mission-critical commissioning experience preferred.
  • Willingness to work a 10/4 schedule in Reno, NV.
