Based onsite in Stoke-on-Trent this HR Advisor role is commutable from Newcastle-under-Lyme, Crewe, Stafford, Congleton, Leek, Stone, Biddulph and surrounding areas.

Salary: £22,000 per annum ( £33,000 FTE ) with a great list of benefits and working 25 hours a week, Mon to Fri, 9:30am to 3:00pm. This is a 12-15 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave, allowing for a handover to enable a smooth transition into the role, ideally starting late November or early December.

What you'll be doing

• Giving day-to-day HR advice to managers and employees, making sure policies are applied fairly and consistently

• Supporting the People & Culture Manager with employee relations, including taking notes and advising at disciplinary hearings (up to second written warning level) and redundancy

• Championing wellbeing and family-friendly working, providing welfare support and following up occupational health reports and return-to-work questionnaires

• Keeping HR records accurate and confidential, and tracking KPIs to spot trends and improvements

• Keeping intranet and website content accurate and up to date

What you need to bring

• CIPD Level 5, plus A Level education or equivalent

• Experience in an HR function at a similar level

• Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR policy, plus awareness of health and safety legislation

• Strong Microsoft Office and analytical skills, with the organisation and attention to detail to juggle competing priorities

• An approachable, empathetic manner and the discretion to handle sensitive matters

Why you'll love this job

• Hours that finish at 3pm every day, plus free on-site parking and casual dress

• A generous package including enhanced annual leave, a healthcare cash plan, an Employee Assistance Programme, company pension with free pension advice, and life insurance

  • A friendly team where you'll gain broad generalist experience and your ideas for improving HR processes will be welcomed

If you're an experienced HR generalist looking for a varied part-time role where you can make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today with your CV!
