Job Description

Weapons System Engineer | Laurel, MD, United States | Hybrid | $85,000 - $195,000 Annually

We're hiring on behalf of a nationally recognized research and development organization that tackles critical defense, security, space, and science challenges. The Role

  • Perform systems-level technical analysis, trade studies, and analyses of alternatives.
  • Participate in engineering team meetings and contribute to overall technical development efforts.
  • Support government sponsors with systems engineering activities, including requirements development, trade study identification, interface control document creation, system architecture development, and risk assessment.
  • Develop formal communications through systems engineering documents and reports, and present findings to senior government sponsors.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Research/Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Physical Science, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of professional experience in weapon system development.
  • Experience in early concept development, performance analysis, systems integration, or requirements engineering for complex systems.
  • Experience developing and customizing system modeling using UML/SysML and associated software.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with sponsor representatives.
  • Familiarity with system engineering principles and practices.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to Government and contractor sites within the continental U.S.
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and ultimately a Top Secret clearance.
