Job Description

Allstate seeks a Neo4j Database Administrator to design, secure, and optimize graph databases supporting finance and insurance analytics. You will manage Neo4j clusters, ensure high availability, tune performance, and implement backup and recovery for critical underwriting, pricing, and risk models. Partner with data engineers, developers, and security teams to refine data models, harden access controls, and monitor capacity and reliability. This role supports flexible work in a collaborative, learning-focused culture, with opportunities to shape data platforms that power customer-focused insurance and financial products.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Neo4j databases and clusters for finance and insurance workloads
  • Design and optimize graph data models and Cypher queries for performance and scalability
  • Implement and manage backup, recovery, and high availability strategies
  • Monitor database health, capacity, and performance; tune configuration as needed
  • Harden database security, roles, and access controls in partnership with cybersecurity
  • Collaborate with data engineers and developers on schema changes and integration patterns
  • Automate administrative tasks using scripting and infrastructure tools
  • Support incident response, root-cause analysis, and on-call rotations
