Technical Project Manager
Introduction:
The Technical Project Manager at Digital Engineering Solutions will be responsible for overseeing IT projects from initiation to closure, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meeting all project requirements. This role will involve collaborating with key stakeholders, delegating tasks, and providing technical support to ensure successful project implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Manage projects from initiation to closure, ensuring they are delivered within defined timelines, budget, and scope
- Work with project sponsors and stakeholders to complete project charters outlining key areas such as scope, goals, deliverables, resources, budgets, and timing
- Define and adjust project budgets as needed
- Maintain and report on project status, including plan, budget, scope, resources, risks, issues, and dependencies
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate team members
- Negotiate with functional managers for the acquisition of required personnel
- Assess project risks and issues, and provide solutions
- Ensure project deliverables adhere to DES PM guidelines
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Provide project wrap-up and marketing slide, and present project overview to DES leadership
Requirements:
Required skills:
- Experience managing projects from initiation to closure
- Ability to work with project sponsors and stakeholders to define project goals, deliverables, resources, budgets, and timing
- Proficient in managing and reporting on project plans, budgets, scopes, resources, decisions, risks, issues, and dependencies
- Capable of delegating tasks and responsibilities and negotiating for required personnel
- Commitment to process improvement initiatives
Preferred skills:
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field with a minimum of 3 years of professional-level experience
- Experience in PMP or SCRUM Master certification
- Proficiency in project management tools and software such as Microsoft Project or Planisware
- Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall
