Job Summary

We are seeking an engineering-focused Lead Database Engineer with strong expertise in Python, AI, database engineering, and automation. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting enterprise database environments, developing automation solutions, and leveraging AI to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and problem prevention.

Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to identifying operational issues, and the ability to build scalable, reusable solutions that improve database performance and operational excellence.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 4+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education.

• 3 7 years of experience supporting Oracle databases in enterprise environments.

• Strong Python programming skills, particularly for automation and engineering solutions.

• Strong AI experience, including applying AI concepts to database operations and automation.

• Strong understanding of Oracle Database Administration.

• Proficiency in:

  • Oracle SQL

  • PL/SQL

  • Query tuning

  • Execution plans

  • Performance diagnostics

• Experience working with:

  • Automatic Workload Repository (AWR)

  • Active Session History (ASH)

  • SQL tuning

  • Oracle optimizer behavior

  • Statistics management

• Experience developing automation solutions for database operations.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to translate complex technical findings into clear operational recommendations.

Desired Skills

AI, Automation & Emerging Technologies

• Understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP).

• Familiarity with agentic AI architectures.

• Knowledge of agent-to-agent workflows.

• Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).

• Familiarity with Generative AI concepts.
