Job Description Job ID#: 226640 Job Category: IT/Technical Position Type: Associate - W2 Duration: 6 months We have an outstanding Contract position for a Senior Network Engineer/IPv6 SME to join a leading Company located in the Alexandria, VA surrounding area.

Pay Rate: $72.00 **US Citizenship is required.**  **Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.** Seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Network Engineer/IPv6 SME for an onsite position supporting the HUD IOO O&M program. The candidate will provide network management and IPv6 architecture design support for the Department of HUD. The candidate will function as the lead for the implementation and augmentation of IPv6 into the existing environment. We know the most talented and diverse IT and Engineering professionals will always have a multitude of career choices; your time at the company will be a wise investment in your career and in yourself Basic Hiring Criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline is preferred. Equivalent education, training, certifications, and professional experience may be considered subject to Government/Contract
  • 10 years of professional experience in network engineering, network architecture, or related telecommunications/infrastructure disciplines.
  • At least 5 years of demonstrated IPv6 experience covering architecture, addressing, routing, implementation, migration, dual-stack environments, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate with Agency Leaders.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise-scale IP networks.
  • Experience with enterprise routing/switching and protocols/services such as BGP, OSPF/OSPFv3, EIGRP, IS-IS, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP/DHCPv6, ICMP/ICMPv6, TCP/IP, and SNMP, as applicable.
  • Experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, access control, segmentation, and security monitoring.
  • Experience with Cisco, F5, and CrowdStrike
  • Experience with HLDs/LLDs, network diagrams, implementation plans, technical standards, assessments, gap analyses, root-cause analyses, and technical risk assessments.
  • Experience supporting network modernization, migration, or transformation in large, complex environments, including data center, cloud, LAN/WAN, remote-access, or Internet environments.
  • Strong technical communication, documentation, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience architecting and implementing zero trust solutions.

Desired Qualifications

  • Federal Government network engineering, IPv6 mandates/standards, or enterprise IPv6 readiness initiatives.
  • Enterprise IPv6 adoption/migration roadmaps and IPv6-only environments.
  • AWS, Microsoft Azure, or equivalent cloud networking; data center networking and virtualization.
  • Integration of IPv6 with firewalls, load balancers, DNS/DHCP, identity/access-control, security, monitoring, and management platforms.
  • Network disaster recovery, resiliency, continuity, automation, modernization, or technology refresh.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCIE/CCNP, JNCIP/JNCIE, recognized IPv6 credentials, Azure Network Engineer, AWS Advanced Networking, CISSP, Security+, or equivalent.
