Job Description
Akkodis is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (MRB Coordinator) for a Contract job with a client in Garden City, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, quality assurance, nonconformance management, and production support, along with strong analytical and organizational skills.
Rate Range: $20/hour to $25/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Manufacturing Engineer Job Responsibilities Include:
- Facilitate daily Material Review Board (MRB) activities and ensure timely review, evaluation, and disposition of nonconforming materials.
- Maintain MRB records, logs, databases, and disposition documentation while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and traceability.
- Track material movement into and out of MRB locations and monitor inventory status throughout the disposition process.
- Coordinate closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to expedite material review decisions and support production schedules.
- Assist with root cause investigations, corrective action initiatives, and defect analysis activities to reduce recurring quality issues.
- Compile, analyze, and report defect data by product, department, process, and operator while supporting continuous improvement efforts that reduce rework and improve manufacturing performance.
Desired Qualifications:
- Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience in manufacturing, quality assurance, quality control, manufacturing engineering, or a related industrial environment.
- Experience supporting nonconformance management, defect tracking, quality investigations, or production support activities within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, documentation control, and material disposition workflows.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing or quality management systems to maintain records, analyze data, and generate reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Material Review Board (MRB) processes, corrective action programs, and nonconforming material management activities.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies, corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience working in aerospace, defense, electronics, industrial manufacturing, or highly regulated production environments.
- Familiarity with quality standards, inspection procedures, defect documentation, and manufacturing compliance requirements.
- Experience analyzing quality metrics and defect trends to identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
