Are you an experienced Full Stack Developer looking to contribute to a large-scale digital transformation program delivering modern, cloud-native solutions for Queenslanders?

A Queensland Government department is seeking a talented Full Stack Developer to join a high-performing Agile delivery team. You'll play a key role in the design, development and enhancement of scalable applications built on AWS, working across front-end, back-end, integration and cloud infrastructure components.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while working with modern engineering practices and contemporary cloud technologies.

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing and developing responsive web applications using React and TypeScript
• Building cloud-native backend services, microservices and APIs within AWS
• Developing RESTful APIs using OpenAPI and contract-first principles
• Delivering event-driven and API-based integration solutions
• Building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK
• Developing scalable data solutions across relational and NoSQL platforms
• Contributing to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and DevSecOps practices
• Participating in architecture discussions, solution design and code reviews
• Producing technical documentation and supporting knowledge transfer activities

About You

You will bring strong commercial experience delivering end-to-end software solutions and have a genuine passion for modern cloud engineering.

Essential Skills

• Strong experience with React, TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks
• Experience developing complex role-based user interfaces and business workflows
• Strong AWS development experience, particularly with:
  • AWS Lambda
  • API Gateway
  • EventBridge
  • SQS & SNS
  • DynamoDB
  • S3
  • RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL
  • IAM, Secrets Manager and CloudWatch
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
• Strong understanding of OAuth2, OIDC and JWT authentication
• Backend development experience using Python
• Infrastructure as Code experience using AWS CDK
• Experience with GitHub Actions or equivalent CI/CD tooling
• Strong testing, troubleshooting and software engineering practices

Highly Regarded

• Experience designing scalable and resilient serverless solutions
• Observability, monitoring and distributed tracing experience
• Experience within large enterprise or government environments
• AWS certifications
